Students will describe and demonstrate techniques used to apply gel nails and describe the effects of gel nails on natural nails.
Students must:
- Attend teacher lectures on nail growth, anatomy and disorders.
- Attend safety and sanitation lectures and demonstrations.
- Receive 80% or higher on the safety and sanitation quiz in order to continue.
- Attend all demos of the techniques. If students miss a demo they may not perform the service.
- Practice each technique on single fingers until the skill is mastered.
- Complete one hand on a model.
How your mark will be determined:
15% Safety and sanitation quiz (must receive 80% to continue)
15% worksheets
10% Cleanup, safety and sanitation
20% Mastery of the following techniques
o Complete an overlay (until mastered)
o Complete a sculpture (until mastered)
