Nationalism in Canada and the World
This course explores how nationalism shapes identity, citizenship, and belonging. Students examine different forms of nationalism and how they influence past and current events in Canada and around the world. By learning from diverse perspectives—including First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and Francophone communities—and making connections to real-world experiences, students gain a clearer understanding of how nationalism continues to shape Canada’s identity and their own role as citizens.
